Bristlecone Pine Tree Cloak

$2,400.00

Note: this art cloak is committed to a gallery exhibition at Barnsdall Art Center in Los Angeles, California until September 21, 2024. It will be available to ship after that date.

The Bristlecone Pine Quilt Cloak was made for all of those moments when you’d much rather be hidden inside of a tree then exposed to the world at large.

Made with seven different shades of individually cut pieces of new fabric, the Bristlecone Pine Tree Cloak is assembled and stitched together in the Textilepop studio in Los Angeles County, California. The wearable art cloak is inspired by the spectacular trees of the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest in the White Mountains, and the color palette was chosen to resemble the highly variegated patches and striped colors of the twisted, textured bark. The high elevation forest, in California and slightly west of the Nevada state border, is also home to the oldest documented tree living on earth, a 4,700-year-old Bristlecone Pine. These noble trees stand as powerful, living examples of aging with grace and relevance.

This wearable art cloak is made with 100% prewashed fabric, 100% natural cotton batting, and is also fully lined. Over 13 yards of bias tape, measuring more than 486” in length, was hand cut in the Textilepop studio from the same fabric and specifically matched to the color characteristics of the Bristlecone Pine Tree Cloak.

One size: 55” (length) x 64” (at chest) x 96” (hem)
Two hidden hand openings in front

Artist designed and made in Los Angeles County, California.

Care: spot clean as needed, or dry clean if necessary. For specific instructions please refer to the FAQ’s
