Made out of 91 individual pieces of brand-new cut fabric, the California Poppy Tote is stitched together in the Textilepop studio in Los Angeles County, California. The handmade, original quilted California Poppy Tote is lined with bright orange cotton fabric and has two interior side pockets. Two leather straps, each measuring 27” in length, are carefully attached using metal posts and screws, plus nylon washers. Each one-of-a-kind California Poppy Tote is machine sewn, reinforced with interfacing for added stability, and hand finished using entirely new materials.
The brilliant colors of the California Poppy Tote, in reds, oranges, yellows and deep magenta, are derived from original Textilepop photographs. Also known as Eschscholzia californica (see original source image at bottom left), this poppy was selected as California’s state flower in 1903.
Artist designed and made in Los Angeles County, California.
